Editors take multiple first, second place categories in The Records high school journalism competition

The staff of The Bruin Voice would like to honor our 2013-2014 Editor-in-Chief and Feature Editor Jessica Nguyen on her winning The Record’s Richard D. Marsh award for excellence in student journalism. Nguyen placed first in the feature category for the feature “Students appreciate family immigration stories” and second in the news category for the news story “District suspends social media contract.”

Other staff members who won awards in The Record’s high school journalism competition included Opinion Editor Jacob Williams for his first place in news story “Teacher assaulted in classroom,” and Sports and Feature Editor Jessica Lee for her second place sports story “Teachers relive glory days” and her second place award in the category of Layout and Design for her work on the Feature page.

Congratulations Bruin journalists! Washington DC here we come!
