As the Super Bowl nears on February 7, a special milestone is reached. This year marks the 50th Super Bowl and to commemorate this once in a lifetime event, NFL has created every football fan’s dream not far from Stockton. All throughout the bay area, although primarily in San Francisco, events and showcases are held for fans to fully experience all aspects of Super Bowl 50. These events include the NFL Experience, On the Fifty, and Super Bowl City which is free to the public and contains a Fan Energy Zone and concerts sponsored by Levi’s.

These events are open to the public until the day of the Super Bowl from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on most days. At NFL Experience, various football training drills such as the 40 yard dash and Play60 Zone for younger children are available as well as Super Bowl history displays to inform fans of NFL’s long history. Players and cheerleaders from the 49ers and Raiders are also featured throughout the day to provide photos and autographs. Historical memorabilia will also be available to celebrate the sport’s 50th anniversary.

Down the street, Super Bowl City awaits fans for an evening experience of concerts, Fan Energy Zone, and sponsored dining. The concerts will have 35 performances including artists Alicia Keys, Aloe Blacc, OneRepublic, The Band Perry, Matt Nathanson and Chris Isaak. The Fan Energy Zone allows fans to share their photos and activities on social media from the Fan Stage and be displayed on the Fan Wall inside the 40-foot tall Fan Dome. The nights are finished by dazzling fireworks provided by Macy’s over the ports near The Embarcadero.
