Every week, I have trouble deciding what to write about. Well, maybe not every week. Some weeks have things like Powder Puff and bursts of inspiration about french fries to write about. But most weeks I am forced to decide what I can write about that won’t make me want to shoot myself halfway through. This...

I spent a lot of time trying to decide what to write about this week. Especially since, let me be honest, when the semester ended I was a little lazy when it came to this blog. My last post was on December 3. It is now January 15. See, I'm even a day late. It’s sort of pathetic. Actually, it is very...

Over the break my mom sent me an article from “Rolling Stone” about the University of Virginia that was posted on November 19. Its contents made and continue to make me sick and question society. It was about the rape culture that goes on at the campus and the continued cover up by the school. Their...

Last Friday was the annual Powderpuff game. It would be hard to not know what the result was. If you do not know, let me enlighten you. Juniors won 14-6. The school will never be the same. Going into the game, many people thought that the seniors would win this year. This was because not only did...

Last Friday, McNair continued their infamous tradition of vandalizing the school on the day of the football game between Bear Creek and McNair. Usually this involves some kind of sign calling us “ghetto” and “ratchet” but this year McNair decided to cause even more damage by breaking out their...

People Magazine recently named Taylor Swift the Best Dressed Celebrity of 2014. Though busy with her new album 1989 (I bought it the day it came out and have been loving it ever since), upcoming tours, and song-worth relationship drama, Taylor can always be seen looking confident in her classical chic...

At the beginning of the year, Mrs. Duffel asked if anyone would be interested in writing a blog for the online portion of the newspaper. It sounded intriguing but the only reason I really decided to do it because other people wanted me to. Anyway, I decided to do it and in the middle of one of my...

Is it odd that when I think about comfort, I think about a couch? With the weather changing and it getting dark earlier I keep wanting to just curl up on a couch and watch TV or something. I don’t think I’m the only one. Some classic TV shows have appreciated the magic of a good couch as well. Think...

In recent years people have thought of the Cowboys as a joke. This year is much different. On Sunday the Seahawks hosted the Cowboys in what many people referred to as a “real test” for the Cowboys. Prior to the game, talk surrounded the Cowboys’ recent success. Fans wondered, “Are they a legit team or is this all just a fluke?” On Sunday the Cowboys answered that question. Not only was it a victory but also the Cowboys sent a message to the league that they are a force to be reckoned with. The Dallas Cowboys are 5-1 and look to be a huge threat in the NFC division.

Question: if someone is on Homecoming Court, do the athletes run out with their sports? I doubt it because the girls are always wearing their fancy dresses but still, I thought I’d ask. If they don’t run out with their sports, I have an idea. I would like to be on Homecoming Court next year. Not that otherwise I would want to or be on Homecoming Court, but still. I will campaign. I will make it my mission to not have to run.

After sweating through the entire summer, it’s a relief to see sweaters and scarves making their comeback. Sadly, not everyone has enough cash to buy a completely new wardrobe for the autumn months. So, here are a few up and coming fall trends that can easily be paired with basic pieces that you already own. Hope this helps make the smooth transition from summer to fall.
